Autumn 2025 in the lab!

Never a dull moment around here - especially in the autumn! Lots of news to cover: Welcome to Jennie Mills, a new MSc student! Welcome also to our Research Topics (Jillian Thrush) and Research Skills (Madeline Locke) students for the term - both are engaging in a wide variety of lab work, but are also focusing on a joint project characterizing the prevalence and intensity of water mite infestations on a common species of mosquito in the region.
The lab also attended the Atlantic Canada Association of Parasitologists meeting at the end of October, and congratulations to our members who delivered their first conference presentations at this meeting!
Sammy has been to BC and back, returning with hundreds of beetles to work with! Plus, Sammy successfully passed her MSc proposal defence earlier in October (woohoo!)
And as always - the ticks are out and bountiful this time of year. Tick checks all around!
